The certified badge means the producer reported certified practices to the USDA — a reported claim, not our inspection.
Ask any producer five questions and you will know more than any label tells you: what do the animals eat and for how long, where is processing done, can you visit, which certifications do they hold and who audits them, and what breed and age at harvest. A farmer answers immediately. A reseller becomes vague.
